"Real world" audio example (MP3 audio file): This podcast excerpt provides an example of using an audio soundbite from a news story to highlight the point we are making in the podcast. Taking audio segments from what’s around you, from the real world, adds drama and makes the segment more practical.
"Soundwaves" podcast prototype developed for Digineer (MP3 audio file): If you need to sell the concept of podcasting inside your organization, try this. Produce a professional prototype that speaks to your company and your goals and challenges, and put it on iPods for the people you need to convince.
IBM's "The Mainframe" video series: This video is from IBM's YouTube series called "The Mainframe." It's a parody of the TV series "The Office," and it is a brilliant use of a creative storytelling format to market IBM and its products and services -- this from a company many still perceive as the traditional "wing-tip shoes" corporate environment of old.
Fidelity podcast page: Excellent page that includes podcast length, descriptions, a subscription button and even an on-page player button. What's missing? I'd put a PodZinger search box on the page, too, so visitors can search the spoken contents of the audio files.
Paul Dunay's "Buzz Marketing for Technology" blog: This is an example of using a new-media format to establish thought-leadership. BearingPoint uses podcasts as teasers for white papers and other marketing efforts, and it has seen podcasts greatly increase the success rate of those white papers and the like.
Netbriefings video with Skip and Jeff: St. Jude Medical uses this St. Paul, Minn.-based company for its real-time product demonstrations during medical procedures. It's a classic use of the power of video in a secure environment when you don't want to be YouTubed all over the Internet. At netbriefings.com, click "play" just below the three photos to see video from St. Jude and others about using video communication technology.
Fraser Steel tube-bending video: Here is a midsize manufacturer that invested in new equipment -- a tube bender that increased the company's capablities. Video lets them to show exactly the ways the new equipment can be used and has helped Fraser win new business.
