What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a Web-based distribution format used to deliver content to people using "reader" or "aggregator" software. The most exciting use for our RSS feed is our Marketing Edge podcast, the audio extension of our M2M United Conference blog.
Simply put, RSS allows you to subscribe (see "How do I sign up?" below) to our podcast - for free, of course - and automatically download each and every new "episode" or installment of our podcast. Once an installment of the podcast is downloaded - to your computer, iPod or other MP3 audio player - you can listen whenever you want. Pause, stop, start over - you're in control.
How do I use RSS?
Before you can subscribe to our podcast, you'll need some podcast software. Don't worry - that's free, too. Use one a friend recommends, search on Google or Download.com for podcast software and pick one you like, or simply download iPodder - one of the originals. Once you've got your podcast software up and running, move on to "How do I sign up?"
How do I sign up?
The specifics of how you'll subscribe vary slightly, depending on your podcast software, but here's what you need to know:
The URL - or Web address - for our RSS feed is http://feeds.feedburner.com/m2munited. Just copy and paste that path into your podcast software wherever it says something like "Add new feed" or "Subscribe."
Believe it or not, that's all you have to do. Now your podcast software is ready to download our M2M United Conference podcast whenever you tell it to. Download on demand, or have the software download while your in the shower or while you sleep.
