June 2007 Seminar - We created a physical blog!
We held a seminar, tackling questions and challenges about using media tools and tactics for marketing, PR and business communication. We took the agenda of those who attended in order to generate our round-table discussion - our physical blog - because of course the big idea behind new media and new marketing is sharing and communicating with each other.
To Start
Albert Maruggi, president of Provident Partners and host of the popular Marketing Edge podcast, set the foundation for the seminar by giving a consice overview of:
- How marketing and PR are changing from "push" to "pull"
- Thinking about your organization as an information source, like a media outlet
- Creating communities to foster customer feedback, market research and brand evangelism
- Using multimedia content as powerful sales and training tools
- Journalism's changes and ways you can adapt
- Recent studies about new media and their role in marketing, sales and buyers' decision making
Audience Agenda
In order for the luncheon to be effective to those in attendence, we aimed towards getting answers to their questions by allowing the round-table discussion. This allowed for new, dynamic ideas to emerge, and we know new ideas were uncovered to inspire solutions for the challenges presented.
About Albert
Albert Maruggi has a diverse background, having worked as a broadcast journalist, senior political advisor, director of corporate communications, and head of his own marketing and public relations firm, Provident Partners. These experiences, plus more than three years of hands-on work with new-media tools and tactics, gives Albert a solid and unique understanding of how the new "big picture" shapes up for marketers and communicators. Albert will be joined in the question-and-answer session by Michael Keliher, public relations manager at Provident Partners. Mike's background in Web development, print journalism and public relations is mixed with a wealth of early-adopter geekdom that makes for a great combination for solving "What's this?" and "What can it do for me?"
Still have questions?
